CommentThis gene is part of cluster known as the type VI secretion system gene cluster tss-5 based on naming convention used for B. pseudomallei described in PMID:17660433, however unlike B. pseudomallei, the numbers following the vgrG and hcp gene match the cluster number (PMID:20865170). While other T6SSs were dispensible, T6SS-5 is required for virulence in a murine acute melioidosis model (PMID:20865170).
